Term 1, Week 3:

Week 3 is  TRAVELWISE WEEK! A special week throughout N.Z schools to promote walking to school, instead of driving. If you need to drive your child to school, consider dropping off your child a little further away from school each day e.g. at the corner

Get on board and get walking to school!

Monday - Walk to school wearing funky feet (wear crazy socks!)

Tuesday - Walk to school wearing a Hilarious hat

Wednesday - Walk to school with a friend

Thursday - While walking to school discuss with family/friends how to use crossing safely and what simple road signs mean

Friday - Draw a picture of you and your friend walking to school, hand this to Mrs Saville or Miss Kneebone and go in the competition to win a certificate and prize!

 PTA Meeting:

Come and join our wonderful PTA this year! The PTA is a great way to support your child's learning and school. Last year our fundraising contributed a $15000 donation to the school, supported the purchase of the science trolley and is contributing towards the Year 6 camp to help subsidise the cost of the camp for parents. We would love to have more members part of our fabulous team. We are holding our first meeting 2pm 17th February in Mrs Slaughter's office. All welcome.

Full School Assembly will be on friday 19th february at 2pm in the hall.

We will be presenting the first certificates of the year and awarding the house captains with their caps and badges, Road Patrol badges and celebrating our holiday readers who took part in the local library programme. All welcome.

Beginning of the Year Partnership Interviews 23 February 2016

In order to continue building strong partnerships, this year we are offering parents and caregivers the opportunity to attend a ten minute interview with their child’s teacher on Tuesday 23rd February. This interview is a chance for each teacher to learn more about your child so we are best able to cater for their individual needs throughout the year. It will be an opportunity for you to share your expectations and aspirations for your child with their teacher in order to make 2016 a great learning journey. Students are not expected to attend this interview but are welcome to wait outside.

Please book online or through the office at:

Pakuranga Heights School caters for children from new entrants up to year 6 and reflects Pakuranga’s multi-cultural community. We are extremely proud of the safe, caring, family environment our school provides. The school has a proud tradition of being a focal point in the community and has always enjoyed a high level of community involvement.

The Pakuranga Heights School learning community strives to instil in each of our students a life-long commitment to learning and provide a nurturing environment in which our students can achieve their academic, physical, cultural and social potential, for the greater good and in service to others. By providing our students with an array of opportunities inside and outside the classroom, we encourage them to not only explore and recognise the diversity of their talents and abilities but to develop essential leadership skills.

Pakuranga Heights School is proud to provide a learning environment that is dedicated to meeting their specific needs. We are fortunate at this school to have excellent and dedicated staff who work hard to support and encourage their students. The school community is strong and works closely with parents to obtain the best outcomes for their children. We believe we enrol the family, not just the student, and work closely in partnership to obtain the best possible outcomes.

At Pakuranga Heights Primary School we strive to help your child to be the best they can be. The knowledge they gain, the values they adopt and the friends they make during their school years will play an important role in shaping their future.
